Greece is a place where history, culture, and natural beauty come together in a truly unique way. From the timeless ancient buildings and monuments that tell stories of one of the world’s oldest civilizations, to the breathtaking islands with their iconic white houses and blue views, every corner feels unforgettable. In this gallery, I’ve shared 5 images from my most recent trip, capturing some of my favorite moments, landscapes, and memories from Greece.
Exploring
Traveling is more than a hobby for me. It is a personal mission to experience as much of the world as possible. I truly believe that we, as humans, are natural explorers, driven by curiosity and the desire to understand what lies beyond our familiar surroundings. Every destination offers a new perspective, a new story, and a new lesson. I also combine my passion for videography with traveling, capturing moments, landscapes, cultures, and emotions along the way. Through my lens, I aim to share what I experience and inspire others to step outside their comfort zones. There is so much out there waiting to be seen, discovered, and appreciated, and I hope my work motivates others to explore it for themselves.
Story Timeline
Moments that shaped each trip, one stop at a time.
I have been living in the United States for the past 5 years, and during that time I’ve had the chance to experience so many places, landscapes, and moments that it is impossible to include everything in one gallery. It is a beautiful country with incredible diversity, from vibrant cities to peaceful natural scenery. These images are just a few highlights from my journey and some of the memories that stood out the most.
Mexico was the first country I visited after coming to the United States, and it felt like stepping into a completely different world. I experienced a strong cultural shock, in the best way, because everything felt so different from what I had seen so far, from the atmosphere and traditions to the colors, food, and daily life. That trip played a crucial role in shaping my curiosity and inspired me to keep exploring new cultures and places around the world.
Puerto Rico felt like stepping into a tropical dream, and the fact that I have visited the island twice says everything about how special it became to me. For the first time in my life, I stood inside a real rainforest, El Yunque National Forest, and it was one of those moments that stays with you forever. The island is not only rich in natural beauty, but also full of history, soul, and culture in every corner. This trip became something even deeper for me, because it was my first true connection with the Caribbean, and from that moment, it felt like it was in my blood. My lovely Caribbean...
After Puerto Rico, I wanted to experience even more of the Caribbean. I had a feeling the Caribbean would not disappoint me, and the Dominican Republic truly felt like a dream. The people were genuine, kind, and always ready to show you around. Speaking Spanish is definitely a big advantage, and for me that was a small challenge since I do not speak much, but it still did not take away from the experience. During this trip, I enjoyed completing my scuba diving certification and I also tried surfing for the first time. Sometimes, I still find myself dreaming about the Dominican Republic.
The travel bug was still in my blood, and while I was back home in Greece for the holidays, I told my cousin, “Let’s travel to Egypt,” since it is fairly close. Egypt was another cultural shock for me, and honestly, I was not expecting that, but I matched the energy from the very first day. It made me feel that future trips in the Middle East could fit me just as much as the tropics. Egypt is a place full of history, an ancient land with kind people and unforgettable atmosphere. I had the chance to see one of the wonders of the world, the Giza Pyramids, and yes, they are HUGE. I definitely want to visit Egypt again, especially to explore the Red Sea side and hopefully do some scuba diving there.
The Netherlands was the first country I visited in Europe outside of Greece, and it gave me a beautiful first impression. It is a very progressive country with people and tourists from all around the world, which gives it a lively and international feeling. What stood out to me the most was how present nature feels in everyday life: everything looks green, and there are parks everywhere where you can relax, walk, and just enjoy the atmosphere.
After the Netherlands, I told myself, “Let’s see Paris, it’s not very far.” Paris truly felt like the City of Light and the city of lovers. I was solo traveling, and everywhere around me there was a romantic energy in the air. Paris is a beautiful city, full of charm, history, and art. I had the chance to see the Mona Lisa, along with many other legendary artworks at the Louvre Museum, which is an absolute must-visit if you are in Paris. And of course, the Eiffel Tower was astonishing.
London was the third country I visited in Europe after the Netherlands and France, and I felt very lucky during that trip. The weather was sunny and pleasant, which is something many people say is rare for the United Kingdom. I saw iconic places like Big Ben and the famous red phone booths that give London its classic character. I also visited the museum where the Parthenon Marbles are displayed, and that gave me mixed feelings because it made me think of home, Greece. In my heart, I believe they should return to where they belong, but I still appreciated the chance to see them in person. That did not stop me from enjoying the rest of the city, including a visit to the famous Platform 9¾. If you are not a Harry Potter fan, you probably will not understand the excitement.
After London, where else would I go? Of course, back to the Caribbean. But this time, much deeper into the West Indies, as the Caribbean was often called in earlier times. I visited the United States Virgin Islands, specifically St. Croix, and what a gem it was. At moments, it felt like I had the whole island to myself. This is the kind of place where you slow down, put modern life and daily stress aside, and simply breathe. I would describe it as an island for self-reflection and peace. The beauty of St. Croix feels raw and natural, and if someone wants to understand what the Caribbean truly means, this is a place they should visit.
Costa Rica is easily in my top 5. I have visited twice, and each time it gave me the same feeling: freedom. There is something special about the energy of this country, the nature, the people, and the lifestyle that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. From tropical landscapes to the relaxed atmosphere, everything feels alive and refreshing. Costa Rica is one of those places that stays with you, and for me, it is a country I can always see myself going back to.
Nicaragua is a vibe. The place felt beautiful and raw, with small towns and villages where it seemed like time had not changed much. Out of all the countries I have visited so far, I believe the people in Nicaragua were among the kindest I have met. The country has a strong religious presence and deep-rooted traditions, which gave it a unique character. I also saw my first volcano there, another bucket list moment checked off. And a quick tip: if you ever visit Nicaragua, do not miss the Treehouse party deep in the jungle near Granada.
Panama is easily in my top 3. I honestly do not have enough words for this place. I specifically visited Bocas del Toro, and I would describe it as a true water world, where everything feels connected to the sea. Wherever you want to go, you take a kayak or a water taxi, and that alone made the experience unforgettable. I loved the relaxed, hippie vibe in the air, and I also got to do scuba diving and spearfishing. I truly love places surrounded by water, and for me, Panama had everything I wanted: amazing weather, good people, party life, wildlife, marine life, islands, and so much more. I could easily see myself living there.
Belize was all about the Caribbean islands for me, not the mainland, and specifically Caye Caulker. It is a small island where life feels simple, and a bike is all you need to move around. The whole place had a tropical, laid-back vibe, exactly what I was looking for. Belize is home to the second-largest barrier reef in the world, and I had the chance to snorkel and free dive at one of the most incredible marine reserves there, Hol Chan. I would definitely go back to Belize to explore more islands, and also the mainland, where I have heard there are amazing ancient Mayan ruins.
Hawaii... what a long flight. But was it worth it? The answer is YES. I visited Oahu and stayed in Honolulu, and the whole trip felt unforgettable. With my university and my best friends, I had the chance to visit amazing places, enjoy incredible views, and experience so much of the island’s beauty. I visited banana plantations and pineapple farms, hiked through tropical forest trails to a hidden waterfall, explored Japanese temples, and snorkeled almost every day. Hawaii is definitely in my top 3 because it has everything I love. The only downside? It can be a little expensive, but absolutely worth it.
Guatemala completely surprised me. I visited Tikal, home to one of the greatest ancient Mayan civilizations ever discovered, and the energy of that place was indescribable. I was mostly speechless. I also experienced almost zero light pollution in the jungle, and for the first time in my life I truly stargazed. I almost cried because of how unreal the sky looked. After 3 days in the ancient Mayan lands, we flew to Antigua for the most difficult hike of my life. My best friends and I hiked Volcán de Fuego, which rises to about 12,346 ft (3,763 m), and the altitude made it extremely challenging. I will not hide it, during the last hour of the hike I wanted to give up, and if my friend Gianni was not there to encourage me, I probably would have. For the first time in my life, I saw, heard, and felt a volcano erupting and throwing lava into the night. Top 1 experience so far. I would do it again and again and again.
